The State of New Hampshire Office of International Commerce is pleased to announce the 2019-21 STEP Financial Assistance Award Application* is now available!

Once again, the Export Promotion Financial Assistance Award Program was included as part of the State of New Hampshire’s State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) Grant. Eligible companies in New Hampshire are invited to apply for a 1:1 cash match grant of up to $4,000 to help offset their activities in international markets.

Who can use these funds? In order to apply for an Export Promotion Financial Assistance Award, companies must be:
What can the funds be used for? The funding must be used to begin, enhance or support a company’s international development goals. For example, grant funds can be used for:
  • International market research
  • Attending trade missions/ trade shows
  • Development of international marketing material
  • International marketing consultant services
What is the process for using the grant? Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis.  Limited funds are available and are first-come, first-serve.  Please contact Tina Kasim and Rachel Adams about availability.
  • Complete application packet including a proposal detailing an export promotion plan, along with the expense report – Partial application submissions will NOT be reviewed.
  • Provide required SBA certification forms
  • Reimbursements will be based on completion of trade activity and all itemized receipts compiled in one submission.
  • Due to the Federal Fiscal Calendar Years, all successful grant activity expenses must be within the STEP grant period (October 1, 2019 through September 29, 2021-no exceptions).
What is the company’s responsibility if they receive a grant?
  • Provide quarterly progress reports from October 1, 2019 – September 29, 2021 (depending on the activity).  Note that once a company’s activity has concluded and the award money has been issued, progress reports are still required to be submitted through September 29, 2021.
  • Provide information regarding international development successes whether through joint ventures, actual sales, contract agreements, partnering with distributors/agents.

*The STEP Grant is a two-year grant program.  As a result, all successful activity reimbursements must be submitted within the next two Federal Fiscal Calendar Years, which take place between October 1, 2019 – September 29, 2021.  Limited funds are available for this two-year period.
